Unity Urban Ministerial School presents Beyond the Walls: Seeing the Divine Beyond Labels—An Invitation to Transformative Prison Ministry
Join Rev. Dr. Stephanie Bush Mann (UUMS 2026) for an engaging and thought-provoking introduction to prison ministry through the lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Rev. Stephanie, director of the UUMS Prison Ministry Certification Program, will guide participants in a 90-minute, interactive workshop designed to explore what prison ministry is, why it matters, and the many ways that spiritual leaders can serve individuals impacted by incarceration.
Participants will earn 1.5 CEUs (continued education units) in DEI while gaining insight into the realities of the correctional system, examining common assumptions and biases, and discovering how principles of compassion, inclusion, dignity, and restorative healing align with Unity and New Thought teachings.
The workshop is open to ministers, licensed unity teachers, ministerial students, chaplains, and all spiritually minded seekers interested in the Prison Ministry Certification program or simply in expanding their understanding of inclusive spiritual service.
