USCR welcomed two new staff to the team: Rev. Shirley Knight as regional representative and Jessica Quin as Uniteen Retreat Coordinator.

The USCR board and staff share our deep gratitude for Rev. Karen Saunders, who stepped away from the board this April. Karen has served on the board since 2023, and we appreciate her time, support, and dedication to our region and movement.

The Unity South Central Region Board is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to step into the meaningful role of Board Secretary. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve the ministries of our region in a hands-on, impactful way.

USCR is offering six technology grants of $600 each to support Unity ministries in developing or expanding their online presence.

In 2008, I moved to Houston, TX, and the first thing I did was join Unity of Houston, as Unity had become my spiritual home and the place where I had decided my daughters, then ages 3 and 6, would grow up. However, I discovered that there was nothing in Spanish—not even a group.

Unity EarthCare Alliance (UEA) has been officially approved as a nonprofit service ministry and has a new website.

The Lenten season is always a season of renewal for me. The weather is changing and the temperature is rising. You begin to hear the birds outdoors and see the flowers sprouting.

Our friends at Folx with Faith have created a new short course that equips spiritual leaders, lay leaders, and volunteers to participate in Pride in ways that are informed, trauma-aware, visibly affirming, and aligned with their principles and values.

Unity Communities & Leaders had churches reach out with care and concern regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity and how faith communities can respond responsibly, lawfully, and compassionately. Read the five-step congregational protocol.

The 2nd annual Winter Lally was an amazing event! Snowball fights, a sing-along, and truth talks are some of what made this event so memorable. We had 65 attendees from six states and three different regions. 

The modest start of a food give-away program grew into Unity Southeast in Kansas City’s program giving away 25,000 pounds of food every month. According to Rev. Fikki, their program gave away over 300,000 pounds of food in 2025.

Unity of New Braunfels offers our Helping Hands Program for free to any ministry, including all of the policies, procedures, and materials we use to run this program.

The board is excited to share the appointment of Rev. Nina Clark. She volunteered on USCR’s nominating committee as a way to get to know our region better, and she’s excited to now serve in a larger capacity.

Unity of Houston partnered with the City of Houston Health Department’s Community Re-Entry Network Program to host an Employment Empowerment Workshop supporting individuals transitioning back into their communities.
