New Investment Profile—UWH Digital History Project
Dear Friends,
As another example of our continued efforts to invest in Unity-wide projects and innovations, we are pleased to announce that our board of trustees approved an investment of $5,000 in Unity World Headquarters’ (UWH) Digital History Project.
In collaboration with HistoryIT, a comprehensive digital archive service, UWM commenced preserving the entire collections of Myrtle and Charles Fillmore and one-third of the Eric Butterworth collection in August 2022. This meticulous process is a multi-year effort to make the works of the Fillmores and Butterworth available to the world.
“After 2,600 hours of diligent work by our team and HistoryIT, we are now planning to launch the digital archive with the Myrtle Fillmore collection in March 2024,” says Rev. Mark Fuss, UWH VP of Outreach and Engagement, “HistorylT has digitally preserved 39,620 pages, half of which are handwritten by Myrtle and her constituents. Her digital collection consumes just shy of eleven terabytes and contains more than 38,000 metatags to make materials more discoverable in the digital archive.”
Next, UWH’s Digital History Project focuses on the Charles Fillmore collection, for which our investment will substantially contribute.
Our board is excited about investing in this opportunity to leave an eternal legacy for the world to recognize the inspirational message our co-founders and Eric Butterworth had to share. We hope you join us in our delight at being part of this undertaking.
Stay tuned for more investment announcements in our Unity movement soon.
In Kindness and with Gratitude,
Rev. Jean-Marie Schweizer
